Founded in 1969, Kirkland Preschool has had the opportunity to have several 'homes' over the years-
Originally located in the old Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church, which is now part of the Kirkland City Hall campus.
The school relocated to the Kirkland Assembly of God Church building in the spring of 1994.
From January 2001 through June 2002, Kirkland Preschool was temporarily located on the campus of Kirkland Junior High School.
In the fall of 2002, the school moved to its own building, at the corner of 2nd Street & 8th Avenue.
In 2011 Kirkland Preschool's director, Carolyn, and her husband Vince purchased the property the school resides on in order to ensure that Kirkland Preschool would never have to move again. We can now say that we have finally found our forever home.
Pulled from the archives we are guessing this is 1977 or 1978. This class enjoyed a field trip to the Fiorito Construction Company.
Interesting Fact:
The original founder of Kirkland Preschool started the school because she didn't like the preschool options at the time for her son. Fast forward many years- her son is now the owner the highly popular indpendant toy stores Snapdoodle Toys in Kenmore, Redmond, and Greenwood and also a wonderful friend and supporter of Kirkland Preschool!
