Teacher Christy

Treasure Box Book Club, Registrar

She/Her/Hers

“I look forward to watching the children in class learn new skills, develop new friendships and seeing how they grow and change throughout the year”

Teacher Christy came into Kirkland Preschool as a parent in 2015. We invited her to join our teaching team and are thrilled that she has continued with us as a Treasure Box Book Club teacher!

A classroom highlight for Christy is picking and reading a new book with the class that they get excited about and learn to love. In her classroom, she values integrity, patience, and honesty. Her creative and kind classroom approach cultivates a culture of respect for each other, responsibility, and stewardship of the environment.

Christy brings her vast background from a Mechanical Engineering Masters to post-baccalaureate certificates. She has years of varied experience in research labs across the US and Canada. Christy is also an avid Girl Scout, and has spent many years in adult-training, as a GS Leader, and as GS Guide in Canada. She has received numerous years of parent education through the Capitol Hill Co-op Preschool and Lake Washington Toddler Group.

Christy cherishes those few minutes at the beginning of the day when she is awake in bed and it’s peaceful—before anyone else is awake. Her three wonderful daughters, watching their relationships grow, and seeing how they care for each other brings her joy and pride every day. Christy also enjoys hiking, gardening, playing piano, and rock painting.
