Teacher Carly
M-W-F, Toddler Two’s
She/Her/Hers
“I’ve always loved kids! I think they are the best a soul can get.”
Carly treats everyone with kindness and empathy, because, as she shares, we all have a story. In the world of preschoolers and their families, this is a generous gift to all.
Carly brings her love of nature – hiking in the mountains with that special mountain sunshine, enjoying the smell of flowers in the spring, picnicking near water – to her preschool life. She jumps in leaves in the fall with her class and then figures out an age-appropriate way for her students to craft “leathery wings” for a pterodactyl project. She values creative projects that spike curiosity and allow growth.
Previous to joining Kirkland Preschool, Carly worked for several years at a multi-age childcare center with their toddlers and younger preschoolers. Her experience dovetails nicely with Lindsay’s in our younger child classes. As she pays attention to each child, her ability to relate to individual children helps them build self-confidence and a love of learning. She helps capture the children’s imaginations with her creative and fun projects.
Carly now gets to channel her favorite teacher, Mrs. Walker, her high school art teacher. Both value creativity and both give the gift of compassion to their students and families.
