She/Her/Hers
“I look forward to helping students grow and explore the world around them.”
KK and her family moved from Florida to Kirkland in 2021, and as KK shares, “It was a big change for us, but we absolutely love the PNW and have found the best community here in Kirkland.”
And Kirkland Preschool and the family’s other schools have found a wonderfully organized, creative and kind friend in KK! She is a very active PTSA volunteer. Additionally, her kindness is being passed down to her children. They all volunteer at the local Pantry Pack through Lake Washington Schools Foundation.
KK was greatly influenced by an early teacher, Mrs. Lincoln, who taught her to read. KK received her Bachelor of Science – Elementary Education from Florida State University, and taught 1st grade for 5 years. Her creative, hands-on approach is evident when she used the concept of a cooking show to help her students learn about fractions. She also taught 4 years in Pre-K and Kindergarten, before moving to our side of the country.
At Kirkland Preschool, as all along in her life, KK values and shares kindness and respect for everyone. She works to foster a positive environment. She says, “Compassion and empathy guide my interactions, both personally and professionally.”
Outside of her teaching, KK enjoys soccer, reading, crafting, hanging out with their two dogs, and paddleboarding. A good cup of coffee is on that list, too!
